WHITE PLAINS, N.Y. – Lawyers representing at least seven nonunion supermarket operators will meet in court today about the purchase of bankrupted A&P after the judge gave tentative buyers additional time to confer with lawyers over the fate of the supermarket chain’s staff, lohud.com reports.

According to the article, U.S. Bankruptcy Court Judge Robert Drain wants buyers to consider keeping A&P employees before he approves the sales. The judge already approved the sale of 53 supermarkets, all of which are union markets or non-grocery buyers.
