Shryock, an agent for Stephen J. Massa Agency of Yonkers for the last five years, brings the company's second Westchester office to the Rivertowns, where he has the pulse of the villages where he was born and raised.
"It's a perfect fit for me and for my family," Shryock said as he sat in his office on Main Street. "The new office will help expand the reach of the (Massa Agency) into the villages and towns I know so well. I think I can relate to the insurance needs of families and business owners."
As a firefighter for more than two decades, the husband (wife Nicole) and father of two boys is now more closely connected to his village than ever as he moves from the company's Yonkers offices to within a few feet from his fire company and less than a mile from his children's schools.
"I've seen and joined my neighbors in the Rivertowns in dealing firsthand with fires, health emergencies, auto accidents and recently through damaging storms that caused so many problems," Shryock said. "Those experiences have helped me as an insurance agent -- just knowing the particular needs from long-term health care to home insurance."
On the insurance front, the agency covers autos, home, life and commercial entities, while connecting to the community as part of the Westchester County District Attorney's Office to present the preventative program Texting While Driving Simulator and driver's education for teenagers.
"One of the things I enjoy most about being in this business, in my home town, is that I can offer advice and protection to people who may be at risk," Shryock said.
Shryock said the Stephen J. Massa Agency satellite in Hastings is introducing the company to the Rivertowns with a its free, no-obligation Nationwide Is On Your Side Review of current policies that takes the holder through current policies and makes suggestions.
"We'll take you through the coverages -- make recommendations or help you understand them better," Shryock said. "From there, it's up to you. No pressure or sales calls. I am here, as a neighbor and friend, to help in any way I can. "
