DOBBS FERRY, N.Y. - Students from the Mercy College School of Business enjoyed working alongside IBM professionals last week during a business simulation exercise at the Dobbs Ferry campus.

About 40 Mercy College MBA and honors business students were invited to participate by the School of Business faculty.

IBM selects two colleges or universities from across the county to participate in its proprietary Business Simulation program each year.

This is the first time Mercy College took part. It now joins Cornell University and Penn State University, among others, as a participant in the selective program.

By design, the exercise is cloaked in secrecy to force students to act on their feet as if in a real-life business situation.

The innovative workshop gives students a valuable experience, said Mercy's Executive Dean Ray Manganelli, director of the MBA Program and Strategic Consulting Institute.

“Mercy students are being given the opportunity to think and interact with executives from one of the world’s leading technology and consulting companies," Manganelli said. "This event is indicative of how Mercy College is transforming business education by providing unequaled, high-level experiences from Day 1 of business school."
