New York State Board Expected To Select Casino Resort Proposals

WESTCHESTER COUNTY, N.Y. -- New York State is expected to approve up to four proposals for resort-style casinos around New York State on Wednesday, according to The New York Times.

The decision on where to place the casinos is expected to be contested, especially just to the north of Westchester where several bids in Orange County are pitted against proposals from Sullivan County, which is seeking economic aid following the collapse of the resort industry decades ago, The Times said. 

Cuomo's push to bring Las Vegas-style resorts to New York was sold as an opportunity to bring jobs and tax revenues to areas in the state that needed it most, The Times said.
