Stop & Shop To Hold Grand Reopening In Dobbs Ferry

DOBBS FERRY, N.Y. – After being closed for a month for renovations, Stop & Shop in Dobbs Ferry will host a grand reopening celebration this weekend and reopen to the public.

The supermarket, at 390 Broadway, will be 2,300 square feet bigger than the original store and will offer more high-tech options to make shopping more convenient, officials said in a press release.

“With our remodel and expansion plan now complete, we are able to offer customers a wider variety of products at the everyday savings and value they expect from Stop & Shop,” Eileen Maher, store manager, said in the press release. “On behalf of our store management team and associates, we are excited to showcase our new state-of-the-art shopping amenities to our customers.”

The celebration kicks off 10 a.m. Friday with a ribbon-cutting ceremony led by village and Stop & Shop officials. Other activities, including sampling stations and a New York Yankees ticket raffle, will begin at 2 p.m.

The improved store will feature Scan It! devices that allow customers to scan and bag items as they shop and Weigh It! stations for self-service produce pricing, the press release said. There also will be self-checkout aisles and improved selections in each department of the store. Things also will be more convenient outside the store, with an additional 38 parking spaces across the street.

Stop & Shop is open Monday through Saturday from 7 a.m. to 11 p.m. and Sunday from 7 a.m. to 10 p.m.
