Community Advisor

Catherine Cioffi, J.D., director of public relations at Mercy College, is responsible for media outreach and social media for the College. Cioffi works daily to maintain Mercy's brand and spread its message and mission. Since her arrival at Mercy College, media hits for the College have gone up over 600 percent, and Mercy's social media presence has gone up nearly 100 percent. Prior to joining the Mercy College team, Cioffi worked at WCBS 880 AM as a general assignment reporter for nearly a decade. The stories she covered for WCBS include Pope Benedict XVI's visit to the United States and various New York Yankees' events. Prior to WCBS Cioffi worked at various radio stations in the tri-state area and New England including; WFUV 90.7 FM, WBGO 88.3 FM, ABC News Radio Network and Clear Channel New England Hub. In 2003 Cioffi received the American Young Broadcasters Award. Additionally, Cioffi, under the pen name Cate Torrieri, has written columns for SheKnows.com about the role food and recipes play in life events. Along with her work in media and public relations, Cioffi has worked at law firms in Westchester County in the areas of civil, criminal, matrimonial, and estates and trust law. She also worked at the Pace Women's Justice Center where she assisted domestic violence victims. Cioffi holds a law degree from the Pace University School of Law and a journalism degree from Fordham University. She lives in northern Westchester County with her husband Robert, and their three sons; Edward, Nathaniel and Quentin.
