The car wash event was created as part of the Ardsley Stormwater Management's effort to inform the community on ways of protecting the water system through the use of environmentally safe detergents.

"The Eco Car Wash offers provides a community outreach for the village as well as an educational event that works well with the high school's Environmental Science Club," Ardsley Stormwater Management Assistant Lorraine Kuhn said.

"We wash the cars with green products on a porous asphalt surface so the water can drain and be absorbed in a safer way."

Cars will be washed from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. for a donation of $5 that will benefit the AHS Environmental Club and its ongoing studies.

"We do a pretty good job of washing the cars and we have an opportunity to educated the community," Kuhn said. "We invite everyone to come out and join us."
