Chabad of the Rivertowns had its first Hanukkah Village set up on Main Street in Irvington.
"This is the first time that we are doing this in Irvington," said Chabad of the Rivertowns co-director Hinda Silverman.
People from all over the Rivertowns have come out to show their pride for Hanukkah.
"We are bringing Judaism to life and it is inspirational," Silverman said.
These festivities were put together by Chabad of the Rivertowns as well as Silverman, a Dobbs Ferry resident, Paula Payson, an Ardsley resident and Rikkie Winner and Mushkee Raskin.
Winner and Raskin are in the United States for one year from Australia, working with Chabad of the Rivertowns.
Payson said,"There has been a really nice turnout."
Emily Newschotz, who has participated in other events sponsored by Chabad of the Rivertowns, attended along with some youngsters who were enjoying the event.
"The kids are enjoying the face painting, the dreidel toss and the menorah painting," she said.
Several Main Street merchants participated in the Hanukkah Village.
The festivities concluded with the lighting of the menorah at Irvington Village Hall.
