Officials confirmed that at approximately 10 a.m. on Friday, a tanker from N&S Fuel in Hawthorne came barreling down Chauncey Avenue before coming to a screeching halt just inches from a woman’s Chauncey Avenue home, striking her porch, but missing the bulk of the residence.

Just minutes later, police were dispatched to the intersection of Chauncey and Clinton Avenues when a New Rochelle sanitation truck struck a tree, forcing a temporary shutdown of the roadway while crews cleaned up the scene.

Police stated that both incidents were mutually exclusive, and no injuries have been reported in either incident. No cause for either crash has been released, and the roadways have since been cleared.
