Country Music Artist Lera Lynn To Perform At The Purple CrayonIn Hastings

HASTINGS-ON-HUDSON, N.Y. -- Lera Lynn, a country music artist, will be performing at The Purple Crayon in Hastings on Saturday, April 18 at 8 p.m.

Doors open at 7:30 p.m. 

Her new album,"The Avenues," has earned praise everywhere from NPR's "All Things Considered" to ranking No. 14 on American Songwriters top 50 albums of 2014, which calls the album "an immersive, sensual experience."

She also nabbed a spot on Rolling Stone's Top Country Albums of the Year, as well as Huffington Post's Music Picks for 2014.

?Lynn kicked off 2015 ?with her national television debut on "The Late Show? with David Letterman?," a? live session on Sirius XM's "The Loft," packed houses on her? Texas? tour???, and premiered a new song on Acoustic Cafe.

"I'm Not Home Anymore (Live at Sun Studios)" was written with Ben Arthur and recorded at the historic Sun Studios. The two met, wrote and recorded the song in one day as a part of Acoustic Cafe's Songcraft Songwriter Series, Songs Of The Road.

Lynn has toured with k.d. lang, Punch Brothers, Sarah Jarosz, Jason Isbell, Leon Russell among others, and has been a regular guest on Garrison Keillor’s "A Prairie Home Companion."

Her songwriting and vocals have prompted comparisons to Gillian Welch, Jeff Buckley, Fiona Apple, and Alison Krauss.

Lynn’s 2011 debut release, "Have You Met Lera Lynn?" includes the track “Bobby Baby” which was voted Best Alternative Country Song in the Independent Music Awards Vox Pop Poll and won the Chris Austin Songwriting Contest at Merlefest.
