“The Dobbs Ferry Festa was a tremendous success,” said Brian Levine, branch office manager for Better Homes and Gardens Rand Realty in Dobbs Ferry. “It was a fantastic fall day that felt like summer."

Thousands of people from all over Westchester and Long Island, Connecticut, and New Jersey descended upon the village. The event had all sorts of food to sample, music, face painting, bouncy houses, and assorted vendors. “We had a very brisk business, with people interested in moving to the ‘Rivertowns,’ as we're collectively known, those towns being Dobbs Ferry, Irvington, Hastings-on-Hudson, Ardsley, and Tarrytown,” said Levine. “They’ve been coined as the new ‘Hipsturbia’ by The New York Times, with Brooklynites and Upper West Siders flocking to our communities because of the great view, schools, arts, open spaces and restaurants.” Levine’s office raffled off a six-bottle wine basket, won by Karen McCue, a Dobbs Ferry resident, who was won over 150 entrants. Levine and his staff also raised $250 for Breast Cancer Awareness Month through the sale of pink cupcakes and pink-ribbon pins. They will be taking part in the Making Strides Against Breast Cancer 5K Walk on Sunday, Oct. 19.
