IRVINGTON, N.Y. -- Two people who police say were involved in an Irvington home invasion and robbery were arrested by an FBI Task Force Thursday.

Dennis Brown, 35,  a Yonkers resident and Elbio Espaillat, 32, a resident of the Bronx, are all facing charges.

At about 5:45 p.m. on Aug. 2, Irvington police responded after a mother and son said two unknown men entered their Main Street apartment and ordered them both to the ground at gunpoint, Chief Michael Cerone said. The male victim was forced into a separate room where he was pistol whipped and ordered to give them money, according to Irvington Police.

The assailants then fled the apartment. Irvington detectives and members of the Greenburgh Drug and Alcohol Task Force located the vehicle used in the robbery. The robbery was linked to other robberies being investigated by the FBI's Westchester County Safe Streets Task Force, according to Irvington Police.

On Thursday, Irvington police officers joined forces with the FBI’s Safe Streets Task Force for a coordinated takedown of the suspects from the Irvington Robbery as well as others of the same crew, wanted for crimes committed elsewhere.
