Hastings' Galapagos Books Hosts Local Authors' Signing

HASTINGS-ON-HUDSON, N.Y -- Local authors and illustrators will meet, greet and sign their works Saturday, Nov. 9 in a pre-holiday event hosted by Hastings' Galapagos Books at the James Harmon Community Center.

Galapagos owner Amada Abad said the list of authors and artists includes several from the Rivertowns, Lower Westchester and New York City. The signing is scheduled to run from noon to 4 p.m.

"We have an annual book signing here in the village with local authors," Abad said. "This is always a very nice event and in time for the holidays."

The featured authors include biographer James Kaplan. who wrote the Frank Sinatra bio, "Frank: The Voice," the Dean Martin & Jerry Lewis book, "Dean and Me," and "You Cannot Be Serious" with tennis great John McEnroe.

Historical mystery writer Peter Quinn ("Dry Bones" and "Hour of the Cat") and Patty Chang Anker (Some Nerve: Lessons Learned While Becoming Brave") and several children's book authors and illustrators will attend.

Refreshments will be served at the signing.

The James Harmon community Center is located at 44 Main Street in Hastings-on-Hudson.
