Hastings Police Sponsor Blood Drive At The Library

HASTINGS-ON-HUDSON, N.Y. -- The Hastings Police Department is sponsoring a blood drive from 1:30-7:30 p.m. Wednesday, April 1 at the Hastings Public Library in the Orr Room.

Each unit of whole blood is separated into red cells, platelets and plasma, each of which can help a patient. Each ALYX donation is a double unit of red cells that is separated to create two doses of red cells.

Donors must be between age 16-75. Donors who are 76 or older must have written permission from their doctor. 16-year-old donors must have parental permission. Donors must weigh at least 110 pounds.
