A new installment of The Purple Crayon's Inc. Interactive series will run from 9 a.m. to noon on Oct. 10 and will feature branding expert and Dobbs Ferry resident Julie Cottineau, according to a news release from The Purple Crayon.

"This collaboration was born out of a unique synergy The Purple Crayon creates between the motivation of highly experienced professionals in the rivertown area who would like to bring their work more locally, and businesses that are just starting out," representatives said in the release. "The highly demanded advice that would otherwise cost organizations thousands to access is, by leveraging the group environment, made accessible to start-ups who might otherwise have trouble advancing."

The Purple Crayon's first-ever comedy show is set for Oct. 19 and will feature political comics Scott Blakeman and Dean Obeidallah, according to the release.

"Their two-man show, StandUp for Peace, is a hilarious performance that's been well-received at venues all around the country," representatives said in the release. "Using political humor and drawing on personal experience, Scott and Dean build bridges, promote tolerance and encourage conflict resolution."

Edgemont teen Simon Cadel will open for the duo, according to the release.
