“We see it every day,” said Sarah Silbert Hinawi, director of The Purple Crayon. “Women who left the workforce to have kids, men who’ve lost their jobs, anyone who’s had enough of work they don’t love — they are starting to build their own work around their greatest skills or their personal passions. And before they know it, they are entrepreneurs, leaders of their own small businesses.”

The Energy Project workshop will be held Thursday, Jan. 8, from 9 a.m.-noon. It will focus on performance achieved through workplace happiness.

The OWN It workshop will run Thursday, Feb. 5, from 9 a.m.-noon. Centering on personal development, the workshop will be led by Joanne Heyman of Hastings. She is the founder of the organization Heyman Partners.

These workshops will cover topics such as leadership skills and business development.

During a previous workshop, Brand Twist founder Julie Cottineau of Dobbs Ferry used what she learned from working with companies such as Virgin and Target to help local entrepreneurs develop their own branding strategies.
