Police Search For Suspect In Armed Robbery At Long Island Gas Station

A handgun-wielding man robbed a Long Island gas station early on Tuesday morning, Suffolk County police said.

A man wearing a mask entered OK Petroleum on Middle Country Road in Centereach at approximately 3:10 a.m. on Tuesday, Sept. 24, brandishing a handgun.

Suffolk County Police Commissioner Geraldine Hart said that the man instructed the employee to open the register, then lay on the ground. The suspect then took cash from the register and cigarettes before fleeing in an unknown direction on foot.

In a surveillance photo from the gas station, the suspect can be seen wearing all black with a red mask and plastic bag.
