Drunk Driver Crashes Car In Parking Lot At Greenport High School, Police Say

A local man has been accused of driving while intoxicated after a crash at a Long Island high school.

The man was operating a 2023 Genesis sedan in the parking lot of Greenport High School just after 7:30 p.m. Saturday, July 1 when he lost control of his vehicle, struck a metal barrier pole, and then a chain link fence, Southold Police said. 

William Lieblein, age 55, a resident of Greenport, as determined to be intoxicated and was placed under arrest.

He was charged with driving while intoxicated and held at Southold Town PD headquarters for arraignment.
