During the multi-village event, which runs from noon to midnight, more than 150 musicians will participate in 90 performances at 30 different venues throughout the day. Many musical genres will be represented including folk, rock, classical, blues, jazz, bluegrass, and world.

"We are thrilled with the range of genres and the quality of the performers that are joining us in our second year. What makes this event unique is that these performances take place in traditional and non-traditional settings throughout the Rivertowns," said Barbara Prisament, Music Tour co-producer. "Sites include front porches, backyards, public parks and plazas, churches, music venues, home studios, living rooms, and restaurants. There's nothing else like this in Westchester.”

Seasoned professionals, budding musicians, and everyone in between will perform 40-minute sets on the hour throughout the day and night. All performances are free to the public including a special event hosted by signature event sponsor Purpl in Hastings-on-Hudson with Live Band Karaoke from 8 to 10 p.m., giving everyone an opportunity to take the microphone and perform backed by a live band of Rivertowns musicians.

Performances in some locations are focused on a particular musical style: swing/jazz and bluegrass at the VFW Plaza in Hastings-on-Hudson (The Swingaroos Territory Band, Tara’s Bluegrass Conspiracy), world music at the Hastings waterfront (Riverrun, Mbira Music of Zimbabwe, Heartwood) and blues & BBQ at Hastings’ Draper Park (Intuition, The Makeshift Mozarts).

In addition to performances there are participatory events including: Songs of Peace and Justice Sing Along at noon, a Blues Jam Session at 2 p.m., and a Community Song Circle at 3 and 4 p.m., all in Hastings-on-Hudson.

Continuing at 5 and 6 p.m. there will be a Community Drum Circle in Irvington, and back to Hastings from 8 to 10 p.m. for the Live Band Karaoke at Purpl.
