Rivertowns’ 4th Annual Jewish Cultural Festival Kicks Off

RIVERTOWNS, N.Y. -- Twenty enthusiastic “apprentice chefs” recently spent 90 minutes in the kitchen at Lyndhurst mansion, learning the Passover secrets of the Queen of Jewish cooking, Joan Nathan.

Cooking with Joan Nathan was part of the Rivertowns’ Fourth Annual Jewish Cultural Festival.

The class was the opening event of the Rivertowns’ Fourth Annual Jewish Cultural Festival. The festival continues with a variety of events through Monday, April 18. See this link for schedule and tickets.

Nathan, whose next cookbook, "King Solomon’s Table," hits stores next year, shared that she serves five different harosets at her seder each year.

“For instance, I have a recipe from Curacao that has coconut in it.” One of her favorite harosets is from her book "Quiches, Kugels, and Couscous."
