Rivertowns Artists Named As Honorees For ArtsWestchester's Awards

WHITE PLAINS, N.Y. -- Rivertowns artists are among 50 outstanding artists and two art patrons who will be honored at the 2015 Arts Awards Luncheon in honor of its 50th anniversary.

The luncheon will be Thursday at the DoubleTree Hotel in Tarrytown and is sponsored for the fifth year in a row by First Niagara.

Bedford residents Yvonne and Leslie Pollack will receive The Emily and Eugene Grant Arts Patron Award for being quintessential leaders in the fields of arts, culture, education. In addition, the 50 artists selected as ArtsWestchester’s “50 for 50” Winners will be recognized for their impressive mix of work as filmmakers, poets, visual artists, choreographers, composers and performing artists – all of whom reside in and/or work in Westchester County, and many of whom are known throughout the world.

The winners of ArtsWestchester’s 50 for 50 award, and their respective disciplines in Rivertowns are as follows:

Eduardo Vilaro, choreographer, Ardsley-on-Hudson;  Karen Engelmann, writer, Dobbs Ferry; Malcolm MacDougall III, visual artist, Dobbs Ferry; Tim Armacost, composer, Hastings-on-Hudson; John Maggiotto, visual artist, Hastings-on-Hudson; Brian Morton, writer, Hastings-on-Hudson; Ed Young, visual artist, Hastings-on-Hudson; Luca Zordan, visual artist, Hastings-on-Hudson.
