RIVERTOWNS, N.Y. - The Fourth of July holiday in the Rivertowns begins in Hastings early Thursday with the first viewing of the "The Moving Wall," a replica of the Washington, D.C., Vietnam Veterans Memorial.

The "Moving Wall" will make its only metro-area stop this year at Zinsser Park in Hastings-on-Hudson from July 4 to July 7 from dawn to dusk each day. "The Moving Wall", which has been touring the country for nearly 30 years, will serve as the centerpiece for a tribute to veterans, families and friends of those who died or are missing in Vietnam, especially those who may not have the opportunity to see the Vietnam Veterans Memorial in Washington, D.C. Dobbs Ferry's Waterfront Park will be the venue for the only Rivertowns fireworks display Thursday at 9 p.m. The fireworks show follows a full day of of activities beginning at 3 p.m. as the Thomas Cullen Picnic & Fireworks takes over the waterfront. The Great Joe Rooney will provide the entertainment that includes live music and a Bouncy Castle for the kids. Local vendors will have a variety of food and refreshments for sale. The traditional flag raising ceremony will take place at 3:30 p.m.
