Let's Move to Fight MS will be held at 1 p.m. at Dobbs Ferry Karate (96 Main St., Dobbs Ferry) and Spincredible (692 Saw Mill River Road, Ardsley).

With an all-day admission ticket, participants will be able to choose from a variety of fitness offerings, including indoor cycling at Spincredible, self-defense and yoga at Dobbs Ferry Karate and free juice shots at Mix on Main.

A celebration with refreshments will follow the activities. Let’s Move to Fight MS was organized by Julie Fischer of Dobbs Ferry, founder of Healthy on Hudson, who was diagnosed with MS in 2011.

Since Multiple Sclerosis is a disease of the nervous system that impacts the body’s ability to move, Fischer wanted to raise MS awareness and create an event that encouraged people to move together to fight for a cure.

In addition to promoting general health and well-being, exercise is helpful in managing many MS symptoms. The goal is to encourage everyone to participate, regardless of fitness level or physical limitation.

Dobbs Ferry Karate, Spincredible, Hastings Yoga and Mix on Main are hosting the event to support Fischer, along with the 400,000 people in the United States who are living with uncertainty of MS every day.

All proceeds will go directly to the National Multiple Sclerosis Society, supporting Fischer’s local team, Follow Your DreaMS, in the National Multiple Sclerosis Society’s Climb to the Top NYC event in March.

The National Multiple Sclerosis Society funds more MS research than any other private organization and provides much-needed education, programs and services to everyone affected by MS.

Tickets are available online for $80 at http://www.letsmovetofightms.myevent.com/?1420477851.
