"We’re thankful to have the dedicated volunteers respond to our emergencies and know how important it is to support a Volunteer Fire Department," Andrus executive director Betsy Biddle said in a statement. "The Hastings on Hudson Volunteer Fire Department has been tirelessly serving Andrus on Hudson throughout our 60 year history."
Tickets to the barbecue are $20 per person and can be purchased at the reception desk at Andrus. A 50/50 raffle will also be held to help raise money for the fire department at $10 per ticket.
The descendants of John Andrus, through The Surdna Foundation and the Helen Benedict Foundation, have donated over $700,000 in vehicles and equipment to the Hastings-on-Hudson Volunteer Fire Department, according to the release.
