WHITE PLAINS, N.Y. -- The Westchester Chordsmen Chorus will be presenting, "Swingin’ with the Rat Pack,” a musical trip down memory lane with Frank, Dean and Sammy for two shows on Saturday, June 7 at the Irvington High School Auditorium.
Shows will run at 2 p.m. and 7:30 p.m.
In this production, the Chordsmen and several of its quartets will perform the great songs of these remarkable singers from the memorable era of Las Vegas in the early 1960's.
The production will be fast-paced and humorous as the show carries the audience through story-line twists and turns.
In addition, there will be a special guest appearance by the award-winning acappella doo-wop group, Classic Sounds, that tour the country with the top headliners of the doo wop era.
The show will be recorded for a Westchester Chordsmen Chorus CD to be released later this year. Audience members will receive a voucher to buy the cd at a special price when released.
The 60 members of the Chordsmen, will perform Rat Pack Vegas-era songs that sound traditional, but will be surrounded by a comedy script.
These past two years, the Chordsmen have performed at Carnegie Hall and won their Division Contest in May of 2013, which led to a showcase appearance at the Barbershop Harmony Society International Convention in Toronto, last summer.
The group currently ranks as the 38th best chorus in the world (out of a total of 800). Auditions for new members are being scheduled. Watch www.chordsmen.org for dates.
