Summer Chess Workshop: 4 to 5 p.m. The Hastings Public Library and instructor John Gallagher host a chess workshop for kids entering second- through eighth-grade. 7 Maple Ave., Hastings.

Ardsley Board of Trustees: 8 p.m. The Board of Trustees will meet to discuss several items, including the Revolutionary War Trails. Village Hall, 507 Ashford Ave., Ardsley.

Tuesday, July 3

Kensico Dam Music Fest and Fireworks Show: 6 p.m. Westchester County Parks Department presents a free Bensen-Scott Big Band concert and fireworks display. Fireworks begin at 9:15 p.m. Kensico Dam Plaza, Valhalla.

Wednesday, July 4

Hooked on Fishing: 10 a.m. to noon. Dobbs Ferry hosts a fishing derby for kids ages seven to 15. Waterfront Park, Dobbs Ferry.

Thomas Cullen July 4th Picnic in the Park and Fireworks: 12:30 p.m. Dobbs Ferry hosts a day of fun and excitement. Fireworks begin after dark. Waterfront Park, Dobbs Ferry.

Dobbs Ferry Summer Music Series: 6:30 p.m. Dobbs Ferry and the Jazz Forum Arts present a free concert. Waterfront Park, Dobbs Ferry.

Thursday, July 5

Nursery Rhyme Time: 11 a.m. The Dobbs Ferry Public Library hosts a story time. 55 Main St., Dobbs Ferry.

Art Workshop: 4 to 4:45 p.m. and 5 to 5:45 p.m. Stories featuring literature, puppets and music, plus time to make art for kids entering grades one through seven.

Night Jeopardy: 6:30 p.m. Teens play "Jeopardy!" at the Ardsley Public Library. 9 American Legion Drive, Ardsley.

Dobbs Ferry Planning Board: 8 p.m. The Planning Board will meet to discuss several items, including setting a date for a special work session on the Rivertowns Square project. Village Hall, 112 Main St., Dobbs Ferry.

Let's Pretend: 9:30 and 10:15 a.m. The Hastings Public Library hosts a Mother Goose time. 7 Maple Ave., Hastings.
