Presented by Speak Your Truth, a collection of Thomas' work titled Spring Awakenings will be exhibited on May 9 from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. at Hastings Station Cafe.

During her art-creating exercise, Thomas sculpted letters out of tissue, dyed them and applied them to canvas without adhesive. The works were created during times of limited mobility due to dialysis. After a diagnosis of kidney failure, Thomas underwent three and a half hour-long sessions of dialysis four days a week.

Hastings Station Cafe is at 134 Southside Ave. All art work will be available for purchase for $1,000 and less. Admission is free. For more information, go to: http://speakyourtruthinfo.wordpress.com.
