This Hastings-based festival was free and included a ton of family activities. In fact, it seemed everywhere you looked there were children doing the bean bag toss, jumping in the bouncy castle, running around in a maypole dance, decorating cupcakes, getting creative with face painting and making their own tiaras.
"The children are what keeps me young," said Sister Carolyn, a four-year resident at Adrus on Hudson, a not for profit senior care community.
Hastings resident Alberto Silva had his brother, Roehl Santos, visit from Astoria, Queens with his kids. "My children are having a blast," said Santos.
Ditto for White Plains resident, Lindy Lipka, her husband and two children. "My children don't get much exposure to their grandparents because they live in different far away states," she said. "This way they get some exposure to the older generation. It's a very sweet event."
