"We have many different types of savings accounts that can help people save for vacations, to pay off loans, all-purpose accounts and even savings accounts for kids," said  Elaine Soliman, project coordinator at Sunnyside Federal.

Sunnyside Federal, which serves the Rivertowns, allows customers to choose the savings accounts that best meet their needs. For example, their "Sunnyside Saver" account is one of the bank's most popular accounts, and allows customers to earn interest daily with a monthly fee of just a dollar if the balance drops below $100.

"We encourage our customers to continue to save for years, because with the 'Sunnyside Saver' account, the higher the balance the more money you can earn," said Soliman. "Whether you're depositing through e-banking or in our Irvington location, it's a very easy account to manage."

For those struggling to curb spending, Sunnyside Federal's Club Accounts let customers earmark funds for holiday shopping, a dream vacation or other big purchases. Money can be contributed at any time, but an early withdrawal penalty is in place to encourage savings.

"The 'Club Account' is a savings account designed specifically for holidays or vacations," said Soliman. "While I too suffer from mismanaging my savings accounts, this can be an easy way to limit your activity, while saving for something worthwhile."

To help children get started on the right financial foot, Sunnyside Federal also has a savings account designed to teach kids how to save money. "Sunny Money Kids Account" requires no minimum deposit and just needs an adult co-signer.

"I'm sure many adults wish they would have saved earlier in life," said Soliman. "This account puts kids on the right path. No matter what you're looking for in a savings account, Sunnyside Federal is a one-stop-shop to help save and grow your money."
