HASTINGS, N.Y. -- Happy birthday to Hastings' Keith Olbermann.
Olbermann, a Hastings-on-Hudson native, turns 58 on Friday, Jan. 27.
Olbermann, a sports and political commentator and writer, attended Hackley School in Tarrytown. This is where he began his broadcasting career as a sports announcer.
Olbermann spent 20 years in sports journalism before moving on to politics. His recent work included hosting his own show on MSNBC, "Countdown with Keith Olbermann," where he became known for his liberal viewpoint.
Olbermann returned to ESPN to host a late-night show called "Olbermann" from 2013-15.
His shows often displayed his feud with Bill O'Reilly and his criticism of the George W. Bush administration.
