Pietrosanto's Hastings-on-Hudson Chiropractic and Wellness is the official local representative for the Foundation of Wellness Education for the Rivertowns and Greenburgh communities, which is dedicated to educating the public about health and wellness issues.

“That’s what appealed to me most about this project,” said Dr. Pietrosanto. “The FWE believes that every individual should lead a life of wellness but unfortunately most people do not fully understand what true wellness is, or the steps to make living an empowered life a reality.  As a volunteer doctor I’m excited to lend my expertise to teach life-changing wellness principles in my own community.”

Pietrosanto’s experience with chiropractic started in her youth when she suffered from debilitating migraines.

"It seemed like there was no hope for relief besides powerful pain killers until a close friend suggested her to see a chiropractor," she said. "The chiropractor was able to relieve the migraines an help me to function at her optimum level."

Pietrosanto sad she learned the importance of chiropractic and all the wealth of other effects it could have on the body. She was convinced that she wanted to start a career sharing the good news of chiropractic and help relieve people of their pain the way her chiropractor did.

After graduating from D’youville College, Pietrosanto worked as a chiropractic assistant (CA) hoping to gain more knowledge of the inner workings of a chiropractic office. After a short time a job opportunity across state led her to Hastings. Unfortunately, the opportunity was not a perfect fit and Dr. Pietrosanto decided to go out on her own.

Pietrosanto, who travels to her office from her home in Weehauken, N.J., began her own practice, focusing on the design of the office and striving to create an energizing, healing environment that offers patients a sense of comfort in her office.  Since that time, the practice has catered to all individuals seeking optimal health and wellness although families and children are a main focus.

Pietrosanto said the workplace wellness programs provided by the FWE include topics such as ergonomics and workplace safety, as well as condition specific workshops on subjects like Carpal Tunnel Syndrome, back injuries and more.

"In addition the local volunteers offer a variety of options for employee wellness screenings and health fairs," she said. "Regardless of the size or complexity of a workplace wellness program, the FWE can easily dovetail their initiative to fit with the company’s objectives."

Pietrosanto has gathered a group of local Holistic Health Professionals and is running a Saturday morning promotion at her office through January called "Holidazzle" your way to health in 2014.
