Hastings Opens Pool, Day Camp Registration

HASTINGS-ON-HUDSON, N.Y. - Registration opens at 9 a.m. Monday for Chemka Pool and Hastings Day Camp summer memberships at the James Harmon Community Center, the Hastings Recreation Department announced.

Hastings Day Camp will be returning for the 2013 summer season with all camps to run from June 24 to Aug. 2.

The Recreation Department is developing a program of days trips, entertainment and other features for the summer sessions.

The Early Learning Camp is for children entering kindergarten. The Hillside Day Camp is for children grades 1 to 6. Both will be held at Hillside Elementary School.

The Sports Camp serves children entering grades 4 to 6 and will be held at Hastings High School. The Hillside Combination Camp, open to children entering grades 4 to 6, offers Sports Camp in the morning and Hillside Day Camp in the afternoon.

A limited number of non-resident camp applications are available.

Camp calendars are now available on the Hastings Recreation Department website.

The Hastings-on-Hudson Recreation Department is also opening registration for resident and non-resident pool memberships Monday.

A total of 50 non-resident family memberships and five individual memberships are also available for purchase.

The cost is $700 for a family membership and $400 for an individual membership.

Pool programs such as the Little Splashers and Noodle Night, Aqua Zumba and the second Annual Chemka Pool Regatta will return this summer.
