Cailin and May Kate Kenehan and their mother Maryann stood in line and filled out forms for a chance at being an extra in the television pilot. The girls said they have been in some school plays but never a casting call.
"They've never done this before," Maryann Kenehan said. "It's going to be in Hastings, so we wanted to try." Central Casting Director Brittany Gischner conducted the "call" that drew professionals (Screen Actors Guild union members) and locals who were hoping to be chosen for several scenes to be shot in the village.
"We need approximately 2,000 background and extras for the cast at this point," Gischner said. "This is a good turnout for a small village like Hastings. We like filing in these venues because people are welcoming and the community enjoys it. We hope to use as many people from the community as we can."
