Irvington's Red Hat Competes For DVlicious 'Best Outdoor Dining' Win

IRVINGTON, N.Y. -- It’s hard to resist the summertime combo of sipping and noshing outdoors. All you need is some sun (or shade) and your choice of a secluded patio, sidewalk seating, waterside dining or a rooftop deck -- and someone else doing the cooking, cleaning and serving.

Red Hat on the Hudson boasts an outdoor patio and a rooftop deck with bar where patrons can sip cocktails and take in the river views.

Red Hat on the River, Irvington

Why It's Outdoor Worthy: Though both the fare and the service are said to be great, it’s the view of the Hudson River, the Tappan Zee, and beyond to the New York City skyline, that folks rave about. Along with an expansive outdoor patio, there's also a rooftop deck with a bar, as well as picnic tables and access to a riverside promenade at this former factory, making for great views all around. But don’t fret if you can’t get a table outside; Red Hat has strategically placed mirrors inside so you still see the gorgeous sunset if you’re not facing its floor-to-ceiling windows.
