As Chief of Vascular Surgery at Mid-Hudson Regional Hospital, a member of the Westchester Medical Center Health Network, Dr. Fulton been traveling to the sub-Saharan African country of Malawi to promote the nation's fledgling medical profession.

Although Malwai has a population of more than 16 million people, there are less than 25 trained surgeons to service them. It's Dr. Fulton's mission to change that number. “When the Malawi Surgical Initiative began in 2006, I think there were only four or five surgeons in the entire country,” Dr. Fulton explains. “I’m pretty sure I’m the only vascular surgeon that’s been over there. Ever.”
