HASTINGS-ON-HUDSON, N.Y. -- Project Hope, which focuses on disaster preparedness, is coming to the Harmon Community Center in Hastings on Thursday, Oct. 10.
Project Hope offers "free public education to the community and offers tips for preparedness for hurricanes and other natural disasters," according to a notice from the village. The program will recognize the one year Anniversary of Hurricane Sandy and residents are invite to "obtain some useful information in case we are hit with other storms during the fall and winter seasons," according to the notice.
The event begins at noon Oct. 10 at the James Harmon Community Center at 44 Main St. in Hastings. A 10 to 15 minute presentation will provide information in preparing for an emergency during the event, according to the notice.
