Restaurant Week Comes to Hastings-on-Hudson

Not that an intrepid restaurant-goer ever needs an excuse to dine out on great food, but if you do, Hastings is the place and Restaurant Week – March 18-31  -- is the time. However, it would behoove you to make your reservations well in advance.

That’s right, the seventh annual Hudson Valley Restaurant Week is just around the corner. And this year, it’s bigger than ever. “We were just blown away,” says Nancy Gold, a spokeswoman for the event, of the overwhelming interest. “We’re up to 198 participating restaurants in seven counties.”

Participating restaurants in Hastings include Harvest-on-Hudson , a Tuscan farmhouse with a view of the Hudson River. The restaurant’s menu features cuisine of the Mediterranean, with influences from Italy, France and Spain, as well as Greece, Turkey and Portugal. Chef Vincent Barcelona’s menu is “inspired by authentic Italian recipes from various regions of Italy.” Ingredients include heirloom tomatoes, peppers, eggplants, vegetables and herbs, most of which make their way from the Harvest’s organic garden to their bountiful tables.

But don’t stop going out for dinner after only one or two meals. Also on the Hastings list is Rainwater Grill, which will be offering unique specials in celebration of the upcoming gastronomic festivities.

Eat out for lunch ($20.95) or for dinner ($29.95), and remember to tip your server. Tax and beverages are not included in the special price.

The list of other participating restaurants in nearby towns reads like a dining guide to New York State: Bistro Rollin (Pelham), Le Jardin du Roi (Chappaqua), Ruby’s Oyster Bar & Bistro (Rye), Tarry Lodge (Port Chester), Trevi Ristorante (West Harrison), Moderne Barn (Armonk) and hundreds more.
