Including one rated the safest in the nation.

That would be Ridgefield in Fairfield County, which placed first from sea to shining sea.

Three other towns in Fairfield made the Top 100: Greenwich at 21st, Westport in 61st place and Shelton at 100.

Harrison and Ossining in Westchester might just be the ticket with both municipalities ranking in the Top 100 Safest U.S. Cities for 2018 survey released by NeighborhoodScout.

Rankings were based the total number of reported property and violent crimes per 1,000 residents in cities and towns with 25,000 or more people.

With a population of around 28,000, Harrison ranked 20th out of 100 for having a low crime rate of 6.56 percent and was ranked safer than 84 percent of cities nationwide.

Ossining ranked 29th in the Top 100 and also sported a low crime rate of 7.29 percent and was safer than 80 percent of other cities nationwide.

Both are close to major hubs such as New York City and offer plenty of amenities.
