Gere, who resides in Pound Ridge, stars in 'The Dinner,' which is being filmed this week on the west end of Cedar Street near Zion Church.

Town of Greenburgh Supervisor Paul Feiner said producers of the movie “The Dinner” applied for a permit to film in the village of Dobbs Ferry.

In addition to Gere, the film stars Steve Coogan and Laura Linney, who play parents struggling with right and wrong, ambition and conscience, anger and love.

Earlier this month, DreamWorks' film crews were in Irvington filming "The Girl on the Train," and planned additional shots in White Plains.

Feiner, whose jurisdiction includes the villages of Dobbs Ferry and Irvington, said the production company rented the church, a smoke shop and 25 Cedar Street for the Monday's filmshoot.

According to Feiner, the film shoot moves to Rochambeau for a few hours on Tuesday. They also will be shooting completely on site at 86 Belden Avenue and St. Cabrini Nursing Home.

"The Dinner" takes place in an upscale restaurant where two brothers and their wives are having a difficult conversation. Paul, a teacher on disability leave, has made a hash of his life. Now, all he cares about is his wife and son. He really dislikes his older brother, Stan, a glad-handing Congressman heading towards election as Governor. They are there to discuss their sons, both teenage boys. The two pranked a homeless woman in a deserted ATM one night after a party, with deadly consequences. Their secret is safe,; no one knows it was them. But how long can that last? What’s a parent to do? How far do you go to protect your children? Oh, and Paul stopped taking his 'meds ...
