Ossining's Del Sol Bakery takes the cake, literally. Owner and American Culinary Institute graduate Lucio Vivar from White Plains specializes in custom cakes, which he has made for 20 years, six of which have been spent at Del Sol.

"Our Tres Leches cake is definitely our best seller," he said. "We also do special occasion cakes, wedding cakes. We make a lot of custom made cakes."

Vivar said the bakery also is in constant supply of cupcakes and cookies, but it's not the place to stop in for a morning danish.

Cupcakes are Sweet and Social in Larchmont's bread and butter. Owner Beth Feldman opened the shop in 2011 for those looking for just the right amount of sweet. Their current roster of cupcakes features interesting flavor combinations, like the Curious George, which brings together vanilla cake filled with banana custard, topped with peanut butter buttercream, dipped in chocolate ganache and drizzled with peanut butter sauce. 1935A Palmer Ave.

Sherry B Dessert Studio in Chappaqua offers customers the ability to create their own treat. Owned by French Culinary Institute and the Institute of Culinary Education in NYC graduate Sherry Blockinger, the studio is well-known for their cookie bar.

Customers can choose from chocolate chip, peanut butter, oatmeal or snickerdoodle cookies, and sandwich them with any of their delicious fillings: chocolate fudge, peanut butter fluff, vanilla cream, cream cheese and jelly, or ice cream. 65 King St.

Frannie's Goodie Shop in Yonkers is known for their frozen yogurt, but there's more to the colorful Ridge Hill favorite than meets the eye. It also sports its own crepe stand, cotton candy machine, coffee bar and over 90 different kinds of candy for even the pickiest sweet tooth. Northern Westchester residents can enjoy a similar experience at its Mount Kisco Location. 260 Market St., 134 E. Main St.
