Award-Winning Director Ang Lee To Speak In Mamaroneck

MAMARONECK, N.Y. -- Longtime Mamaroneck resident and award-winning film director Ang Lee will speak as part of the Center for Continuing Education’s “Notable Neighbors” series.

The event is set for 7 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 7, at McClain Auditorium at Mamaroneck High School, 1000 West Boston Post Road.

Lee, is best known for “Brokeback Mountain” and “Life of Pi,” but his far-ranging body of work has included films such as “Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon,” “The Ice Storm,” “Sense and Sensibility,” and “Hulk.”

Dr. Michael DiGennaro, a film instructor for The Center, will be directing the discussion.

Lee’s films have explored such diverse topics as the conflict between tradition and modernity; sexual taboos; and comic books.

His latest project, the wartime saga "Billy Lynn’s Long Halftime Walk," is scheduled for release in November 2016.

Tickets are $40. Students are admitted free.
