DOBBS FERRY, N.Y. -- Though Broadway is in his blood, Dobbs Ferry resident John Treacy Egan, an acclaimed actor and singer, says he doesn't live in the city for a reason. "I love Westchester and it's very special to have the opportunity to perform close to my friends and family."

The Larchmont-raised performer (he went to Rye Country Day and Hommocks Middle School in Mamaroneck), has appeared widely on Broadway, on hit television shows, and in major motion pictures. He was recently in the Tony-nominated cast of "Casa Valentina"  at the Manhattan Theater Club and created the role of Joey in the Broadway production of "Sister Act."

Other accolades include playing Max Bialystock in the Broadway production of "The Producers" and appearing in numerous television shows such as "Boardwalk Empire," "Nurse Jackie," "30 Rock," and "Law & Order."

Locally, folks can see him at the White Plains Performing Arts Center where, on Friday, Nov. 14, he will join vocalist Beverly Taki and the classical crossover ensemble O Sole Trio as special guest artist.

The show is at 8 p.m. and tickets are $25-$45. Go to www.wppac.com or call 914-328-1600, ext. 13 for more information.

Also on his agenda (though no details are released yet): The holiday show "Rudolph Unplugged"  in Croton-On-Hudson and New Fairfield, Conn.

He will also be directing the holiday children's musical "Another Night Before Christmas" at the Westchester Broadway Theater Dec. 13 and 20.
