HASTINGS-ON-HUDSON, N.Y. - Anna Ryan, a longtime resident of Hastings-on-Hudson, died Jan. 16. She was 101.
A native of Ireland, Ryan was born in County Cavan to John and Rose McEnroe. She married Richard P. Ryan, who predeceased her in 1984, and was employed as a cafeteria worker for the Hastings School District.
A parishioner of the Church of St. Matthew Roman Catholic Church in Hastings-on-Hudson, Ryan was a longtime member of the Rosary Sanctuary Society.
She is survived by her daughters Maureen Ryan and Theresa (Jonathan) Peace, her son Richard (Kathy) Ryan, 12 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren. Ryan was predeceased by her daughter Helen Morrissey in 2011.
The family will receive friends from 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. on Thursday at Edwards-Dowdle Funeral Home in Dobbs Ferry. The funeral mass will be held at 10 a.m. on Friday at Church of St. Matthew. Interment will follow at Mt. Hope Cemetery.
