Ex-Hastings Nursing Director, Rosch, Dies at 75

HASTINGS-ON-HUDSON, N.Y. - Former Director of Nursing at Hudson View Nursing Home, Marguerite A. Rosch, died suddenly on Oct. 2 at the age of 75.

Mrs. Rosch was born in Yonkers to Lulu and Edward McCready. She attended Sacred Heart High School and the Cochran School of Nursing, where she was the first graduate to ever receive both the Florence Nightingale Award for bedside nursing, as well as the Academic Award for highest grades. She went on to serve as Head Medical Nurse at St. John's Riverside Hospital and its Andrus Pavilion. She was subsequently appointed Director of Nursing at the Hudson View Nursing Home.

An avid golfer, she was a class A Club Champion at both the Elmwood Country Club and the St. Andrew's Golf Club. Mrs. Rosch was admired by her friends and family for her complete honesty, upbeat attitude and witty sense of humor.

She is survived by her husband Dr. Paul J. Rosch, her daughter Donna Rosch Telyczka, her stepsons Jonathan Rosch, Michael E. Rosch, Richard J. Rosch, her stepdaughter Jane Rosch Newton, her sisters Helen M. Kearney, Ph.D and Joan Bakutes, and six granddaughters.Viewing will be held at Whalen and Ball Funeral Home in Yonkers on Thursday from 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. The funeral mass will be conducted at 9:30 a.m. on Friday at Sacred Heart Church in Yonkers, followed by burial at Mount Hope Cemetery.
