HASTINGS-ON-HUDSON, N.Y. - Hastings residents armed with trash bags and civic pride will hit the streets, parks and walkways Saturday and Sunday for the village's "Hastings: A Neat Place To Live" cleanup weekend.
The village-wide attack on litter is being promoted by the Hastings Recreation Department. It is asking volunteers to select an area to be cleaned from a map available at the James Harmon Community Center.
Volunteers are encouraged to contact friends and neighbors to participate as individuals or as groups. Trash bags and maps are available at the Community Center.
Saturday's cleanup will feature a pizza party for volunteers at the Veterans of Foreign Wars building on Warburton Avenue at noon.
For information or to indicate the area you have selected to clean, contact Lisa O’Reilly at 478-2380, Ext. 642, or email@example.com.
