"The children are going to have their faces painted, enjoy the trains and see Santa and Mrs. Claus," said Recreation Assistant Lisa O'Reilly, who organized the event. "And we're remembering the children of Sandy Hook (Connecticut) with our "Random Acts of Kindness" for the holidays. The children can suggest things they can do to help others."

Mrs. Claus (Fran Giovonetti) greeted families as they arrived at the event to a waiting breakfast and face painting by Transformations Agostino Arts), which provided an original work of face art for each child while parents looked on and took photos.

Santa Claus (David Dosin) arrived just before 11 a.m. and sat with Mrs. Claus visiting with children. Elves Kevin and Brian Dosin assisted with the line of children waiting to talk to Santa.

By noon, the Recreation Department bulletin board was filled with "Random Acts" handwritten suggestions by children for such kindnesses as one to the Recreation Department that said, "Thank them for all the opportunities they give our children..."
