DOBBS FERRY, N.Y. A new year offers brand new opportunities, which is why New Years resolutions are always so popular. Another question entirely though is how long people can actually stick with these resolutions. We asked a few people around town what their resolutions were and how they planned to keep them.
Dobbs Ferry resident Oksana Aron: No resolution to be honest, 2011 was kind of stressful so maybe just have a little more levity. Just try to find positive in everyday stuff and not get hung up on the negatives.
Hastings Police Lt. David Dosin: I want to maintain my weight loss, my happiness and my health. Its a struggle every day, but Ill stick with it forever.
Dobbs Ferry resident Guy Ayad: My New Years resolution, now that I quit smoking, is to lose some weight and to find true love. Im going to write it down and try to remember it, not just keep it through January or February.
Sarah Seitz, graduate student at Manhattanville College: My resolution is to spend more time outdoors. I think fresh air does the body good. Maybe [Ill stick with it] the whole year.
Glen Johnson, Health Sciences and Environmental Sciences Professor at Lehman College: My resolution is to go to bed earlier at night so I can have a longer day. Itll probably last a week, but Ill just make it a routine.
