Summer Encourages Dining Outside in Dobbs Ferry

DOBBS FERRY, N.Y. -- Evan Jones, 5, was sipping his banana-mango, blueberry smoothie outside of Pablo's Deli on Thursday while he enjoyed the crystal clear weather in Dobbs Ferry. One of the perks of summer is that the weather is often ideal for dining outside. Evan sat at a table on the sidewalk with his mother, Rosemarie, and enjoyed some people watching while sipping his ice cold drink.

"I talk to everybody who walks by my sight," Evan said.

With that in mind there are several restaurants in Dobbs Ferry that provide just that for customers. Restaurants like The Brick Oven Pizza, Sushi Mikes, Orissa and Pablo's Deli offer plenty of seating for customers looking to enjoy the weather.

"We love it here," Rosmarie said. "Unfortunately some restaurants go, but then others come."

Many restaurants on Main Street. and Cedar Street. give customers the luxury of sitting and enjoying their food while relaxing and taking in some rays. With tables and chairs outside many store fronts it is common to see Dobbs Ferry residents enjoying some of their favorite foods along with the weather. Watching people walk by isn't the only activity that some enjoy while dining outside.

"I like bird watching," Evan said. "You get to discover new kinds of birds."

With weather forecasts predicting temperatures in the high 80s and sun all weekend, there's no better time than to take your food outside. Stop by one of the local restaurants and take a seat by the front door, but don't forget your sunglasses.
