Ashford Avenue will have a lane closed from Southfield Avenue to Saw Mill River Road on both days from 9 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. as work is done to the fascia netting and joint replacement is accomplished on the top side of the bridge.

The repairs are part of a $1.5 million project proposed by Westchester County Executive Rob Astorino and authorized by the county Board of Legislators after concrete facing fell on June 22 from the sides of the county-owned bridge onto the New York State Thruway below. The interim bridge work is being done by McNamee Construction Corp. It is expected to be completed over the winter.

The $1.5 million repair project is in addition to a $20 million long-range rehabilitation of the bridge, expected to be completed in 2017. That work will be paid for with a combination of federal, state and county funds.
