"The bear reportedly ran away rather quickly and was not aggressive," Police said.

Residents are being reminded not to feed bears either deliberately or inadvertently and to remove food sources that the bear may have access to.

While black bears are omnivores and largely consume grasses, berries, fruit and insects, they will also eat human food, including bird seed, honey, and corn.
